Dianne Gow, Visited June 2021, Google Reviews Stopped by after seeing them on the local news. A MUST place to stop by. Their soup is amazing and they have homemade sandwiches dessert and Cheesecake Factory cheesecake. Please support this great place. Worth the drive to Laurelwood. ★★★★★
Felicia Y, Visited February 2019, Yelp Review How have I gone three years without the Java Garden's famous red pepper soup! The cafe which used to be in St Jacobs moved to Waterloo around a year ago and I only recently found out about their new location when I drove by the area. I came here twice within the past week and brought along two first time Java Garden soup tasters, they were very impressed! Not only does Java Garden have amazing soup, their sandwiches, scones, baked goods are also delicious! Now that they've moved closer to where I live, I will not be letting their soup go out of my sight again! ★★★★
“Great food!” Visited July 2016, Review on TripAdvisor Great spot for lunch. Amazing food. Famous for delicious roasted red pepper tomato soup. Also definitely recommend the tea biscuits and the seafood melt. Great prices. You can tell the food is homemade. Quick because you order at the counter and they bring the food to table. Also serve Kawartha Dairy ice cream - best ice cream there is. Relaxed atmosphere. Personable staff. Favorite place for lunch in St. Jacobs. |

Heidi Rudy, Visited May 2021, Google Reviews This gem of a café in Laurelwood is one of the happiest parts of my day. Great coffee, food is fabulous and the soup is delicious. Love that they are now creating made to order gift baskets. The staff is friendly and accommodating. I highly recommended you check this place out. You'll love it! ★★★★★
Michelle Ma, Visited May 2021, Google Reviews BEST CAFE EVER!!!! Dan is so nice and easygoing and always makes sure that I leave the place satisfied and happy. The food is incredible (the soup IS as good as everyone says it is, and that's coming from someone who doesn't like tomatoes!) and the desserts are always delicious. The coffee is pretty amazing, too. Really miss being able to chill and study with my friends at Java, but I still try to drop by to pick up a yummy lunch every once in a while. Give this place a try, you won't regret it! ★★★★★
“Adorable & cozy cafe!” Visited June 2016, Review on TripAdvisor My boyfriend and I recently visited the Java Garden in St Jacobs and we absolutely loved it!! The atmosphere was perfect, the coffees came out quick and delicious, and the cheesecake was to die for!!! Not to mention the staff was professional and very helpful in making decisions! I'd go back in a heart beat and recommend it to all my friends and loved ones! Keep up the great work :) |
“Great food, great service”
Had the signature soup and sandwich lunch deal. Had to return the next day to buy soup to take home so everyone there would believe my delicious raves. Service with a laugh. Will return again and again.

“Wonderful experience”
This cafe is a little gem. The food is great and the owner Dan Dudack is a very engaging and welcoming host. The signature red pepper and tomato soup is amazing and my two friends and I purchased eight jars to bring home. I'd go back, and will go back whenever I visit St Jacobs.

“Delicious Soup”
My daughters and I discovered this quaint little cafe in 2015 while attending the Ontario Volleyball Association provincial championships. Upon our return this past year to the OVA, our number one priority was to stop in again for their delicious soup and sandwiches. We drove 7 hours to get there and it was worth every kilometer. In fact, we bought 3 jars to bring home with us and recommended it to all the players on the team. Thanks Dan Dudack...we will be back in 2017. oh and thank you for the cookies..mmmmmm
